Wheel support
Wheel is an iPhone remote for LG, Samsung, Roku, Google TV and Vizio TVs, built around a click wheel. Most problems come down to the phone and the TV not seeing each other, so start there.
My TV doesn't show up
- Make sure your phone and the TV are on the same Wi-Fi network. Guest networks usually keep devices apart.
- Check that Wheel has local network access: Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network › Wheel.
- Turn the TV on with its own remote and press Find TVs again.
- Still nothing? Use Enter address and type the TV's IP address, which you'll find in the TV's network settings.
Pairing
- LG and Samsung ask on screen whether to allow Wheel. Accept with the TV's own remote. If you miss the prompt, pick the TV again.
- Google TV and Vizio show a code on the TV. Type it on your phone.
- Roku needs no pairing, but newer models block remote apps until you set Settings › System › Advanced system settings › Control by mobile apps to Enabled.
Turning the TV on
Wheel can only wake a TV it has connected to before. On an LG, also turn on Settings › General › Mobile TV On (called "Turn on via Wi-Fi" on some models). Some TVs cut their network connection when they've been off for a long time; turn those on with the TV remote once and Wheel will reach them again.
"This TV looks different"
Wheel remembers each TV's security certificate and stops if a different one shows up. That usually means the TV was reset or replaced. Open the TV list, choose Forget, and pair again.
